EORTech

EORTech is a patented, unconventional approach to producing abandoned crude oil from shallow reservoirs. In a departure from typical oil field exploitation, it uses accepted reservoir mechanics in an innovative geometric array of horizontal bores, which makes production efficient and economical.

Its processes improve upon traditional methods with a unique system that has been developed over the past 15 years and tested on site at the Charco Redondo oil field. The EORTech approach:

  • Changes the sweep from radial (vertical) to linear (horizontal) by drilling parallel, horizontal, opposing bores, alternating injection with production.
  • Enables a horizontal well to extend along the strike axis of the formation for up to 3,000 feet in each direction from a drilling room, instead of simply intersecting the vertical dimension of the oil reservoir.
  • Injects a 350-degree, two-phase fluid system of condensable steam and non-condensable products of combustion. This patented process creates an efficient, two-phase gravity drainage sweep.
  • Operates the entire EORTech process at low pressure, providing as much as 300 times the injectivity and productivity of fluid as a 10-foot vertical bore under the same operating conditions.
  • Provides an underground drilling platform proximate to the reservoir, which allows bores to be drilled utilizing a conventional drilling fluid while minimizing fluid loss, associated formation damage and drill pipe sticking.
  • Self-produces crude into underground storage tanks via its non-condensable injected phase, similar to a solution gas drive.

EORTech combines patented heat generation technologies with unique mining and drilling methods to create a cost-effective oil recovery system that offers virtually limitless opportunities for return on investment.
